Counting down vs counting days
This page answers a planning question ("how many days do I have?") rather than running a live clock. The count is the plain difference between today and the target, so tomorrow is 1 day away. Weekdays and weekend days split that same span; working days also remove US federal holidays generated from 5 U.S.C. § 6103. How do you count the days until a date?
Subtract today's date from the target date. Today is day 0 and the target day is the last one counted, so if the target is tomorrow the answer is 1 day.
Does it count today?
No. "Days until" is the difference between the dates. If you want to count today as well (for example the number of calendar days you can still use), add 1.
How many working days are left?
The page shows the Monday–Friday days after today up to and including the target, less US federal holidays. For UK bank holidays or a custom work week, use the business days calculator.
Why does the number change at midnight and not at the time of my event?
This is a whole-day count based on your device's calendar date. For a to-the-minute gap between two date-times, use the time duration calculator.
